Looking now to the right, you can follow with your eyes Pequot Avenue up the hill as it swings out of town to meet U.S. Route 1 which bypassed the village in the 1930s.  Down this road once came the electric trolley cars from Bridgeport and Fairfield.   Turn left now onto Pequot Avenue as it parallels the railroad line on its way to the shore.
