Robinson Cottage
A last house to point out, on the right visible behind a privet hedge, is another 18th century structure, the story-and-a-half Robinson Cottage, built by John Robinson around 1795, and a rare survivor of what was, in the 1700s, the most common size and style home in the area – compact, modest and efficient. The cottage, by the way, is an early example of historic preservation. It was rescued in 1929 by the Sasquanaug Association, which undertook to restore and maintain the building.
